In 1987 my husband, Rick and I started KimRik
Landscape Design, a landscape installation and
design business. Then in 1990 we purchased our
current property and began plans to open a
retail garden center. In 1993 we welcomed a
daughter into our family, Haley Marchelle
Kauffman. She is now a very important part of
our business and is a great daughter as well as
employee! For our first season we sold off of flat
bed wagons as a help yourself set up. Then we
renovated an old chicken house on the property
for our store. We worked out of that until 1998
when we constructed our present building of
1100 sq. ft. with 2 gutter connect retail
greenhouse out the back totaling 2500 sq. ft.
Almost all of our bedding plants, specialty
annuals and perennials are produced here on our
property.
In 2003 we added a full service fresh floral dept
to the store and have enjoyed the new customers
it has brought us. Several years ago we started
offering custom container planting and this has
grown into a very busy service and has expanded
into other seasons than just the busy Spring.
We pride ourselves on individual attention and
going that extra step to make your shopping
with us a great experience. We have been blessed
with fantastic, knowledgeable and willing
employees, without them KimRik would not be.
